Village of Lowville Downtown Revitalization Initiative
DRI Round 7
About the Downtown Revitalization Initiative
& Why it Matters
New York State's Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) is a cornerstone of the State's economic development program. The DRI transforms downtown neighborhoods into vibrant centers that offer a high quality of life and are magnets for redevelopment, business, job creation, and economic and housing diversity. These compact, walkable downtowns are a key ingredient to helping New York State rebuild its economy from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as to achieving the State’s bold climate goals by promoting the use of public transit and reducing dependence on private vehicles.
The DRI is led by the Department of State, in close partnership with Empire State Development, NYS Homes and Community Renewal and New York State Energy Research and Development Authority.
We invite commercial property owners to submit their transformative project proposals that will breathe new life into downtown Lowville. The NYS DRI funding aims to ignite economic growth, enhance livability, and embrace the unique spirit of Lowville.
With their plan to revitalize Lowville, the Village is looking to connect directly with the community to understand your needsand wants. The Village & their partners will be hosting public input sessions on Thursday, September 14th at the following locations:
Cafe Z | 8am-12pm
Crumbs. Bakeshop | 8am-12pm
The PB&J Cafe | 8am-12pm
Jeb's Restaurant | 6pm-8pm
The Bateman Draft House | 6pm-8pm
These sessions are open to anyone & everyone! There won't be any appointments required - stop into any designated location and leave a suggestion or sit down for a conversation!
