Lewis County Economic Development/IDA Announces Director of Finance & Incentives

April 21, 2020

The Lewis County Economic Development/IDA board and staff would like to announce the promotion of Cheyenne Steria to Director of Finance & Incentives!

Cheyenne joined the Naturally Lewis team in April of 2018 as the Finance Technical Specialist, bringing a wealth of knowledge in finance and project management.  Since then, Cheyenne has been an integral part of the team, serving as a key liaison with businesses, renewable energy companies and municipalities as they navigate the PILOT and incentive process.

Cheyenne was promoted to Director of Finance & Incentives to fill some of the duties and responsibilities of the previous Executive Director, Eric Virkler, and to serve as the lead on finance & incentive projects coming through the LCIDA and LCDC.

"Cheyenne's background and her proven success as the Finance Technical Specialist made it an easy decision to not only promote her to this role, but to realize her potential within this organization.  Her knowledge and skill set will prove to be a huge asset for not only the LCIDA, but for our community at large," stated Brittany Davis, Executive Director of Lewis County Economic Development/IDA.

Cheyenne was appointed to this new role April 2, 2020.

Favorite Hobby Outside of Work: Climbing mountains at sunrise & mountain biking

What is your favorite part about working for LC Economic Development/IDA?:  Variety, vision and relationships.  I've never worked in a place that I've felt more comfortable sharing ideas and where I feel like there is so much transparency and trust at staff and board level.  But at the same time, feeling challenged, which is important to me in order to improve each and every day.

What do you hope to accomplish in your new role?: I want to deepen my knowledge of IDAs, LDCs and other partner organizations in order to optimize the financial resources we as a County and region can make available to businesses.  I think there is room for more creativity and strategy about how we approach economic development, as a whole.  I'm excited to improve relationships and transparency with our municipalities and partner organizations.
