Request for Proposal – Tourism Content Creation for Discover Tug Hill & Lewis County, NY

Project Overview 

We are looking to create a series of tourism videos and related multimedia content to promote Lewis County. The content should highlight the region's breathtaking landscapes, outdoor activities, local attractions, historic sites, cultural events, and the warm hospitality of the residents. The primary aim is to inspire potential visitors to choose Lewis County as their next travel destination. Funds for this intiative must be dispersed by September 1, 2025. 

Project Goals 

• Develop a well-rounded content library for Discover Tug Hill marketing 

• Collect content from all four seasons showcasing the diverse recreational opportunities, things to do, culture, festivals and key tourism events of Lewis County, NY. 

• Gain awareness of Lewis County’s opportunities by leveraging content creator’s professional audience.  

• Work collaboratively with staff to meet any content creation needs.  

Scope of Work 

We are looking for proposals from various content creators with the professional expertise and skill sets in the following sectors:  

1. Creation of a series of tourism videos: The content creator(s) will develop and produce a series of professional videos, each showcasing a specific aspect of Lewis County's tourism offerings. These videos should capture the essence of the location, feature local attractions, highlight recreational opportunities, and evoke a sense of adventure and wonder.  The content creator will be responsible for capturing high-quality footage of the designated locations within Lewis County. This includes aerial shots, ground-level filming, interviews with locals, and any other creative techniques to showcase the beauty and charm of the region. The content creator will also handle the editing process to produce final, polished videos. 

2. Scriptwriting and storyboarding: The content creator will collaborate with our team to develop captivating scripts and storyboards for each video. The scripts should effectively communicate the unique selling points of Lewis County while maintaining a compelling narrative. 

3. Multimedia content: In addition to the videos, the content creator will develop related multimedia content, such as high-resolution images, promotional graphics, short social media clips, and engaging blog posts. These materials should complement the video content and create a cohesive brand image for Lewis County. 

4. Blogs and Article Creation: Content creators will work with our team to identify and create various blogs and articles that can be posted on the Discover Tug Hill website, utilized in publications and other media outlets to enhance our marketing.  

5. Influencer Marketing for Your Audiences: We understand that professional content creators have connections and followers from across the Country and World.  We will require that content creators become influencer marketers for the Discover Tug Hill brand, ensuring that content created by the professional will be showcased to their audiences in various ways.  

Submission Requirements 

Content creators must be professionals in their field and have the skills and expertise in education and experience in order to be considered.  Interested content creators are requested to submit a comprehensive proposal that includes the following information: 

1. Introduction |  A brief description of your business, your team member(s), and any credentials  
   1. A narrative outlining your business’ strengths, skills, capabilities, experience, and expertise.
2. Proposed Approach | 
   1. A detailed explanation of your multi-year approach to content creation for tourism promotion, including how you plan to showcase the unique features of Lewis County.
3. Portfolio | 
   1. Examples of previous work related to tourism promotion or relevant projects that demonstrate your creativity, storytelling abilities, and production quality. 
4. Project Budget | 
   1. A breakdown of your proposed budget, including all anticipated costs such as pre-production, filming, editing, post-production, travel expenses, equipment rental, and any additional fees. 
5. Third Party Agreements |
   1. Identify (if any) subcontractors you will be utilizing to fulfil the proposal.
   2. Clearly state the reasons for outsourcing certain parts of the project.
   3. Explain how the contractor will maintain quality control over the outsourced work. 

Proposal Evaluation and Selection Criteria 

Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria: 

1. Relevant experience: Demonstrated experience in producing high-quality tourism-related content, preferably within a similar geographic location or setting. 

2. Creative approach: The proposed approach to content creation, including storytelling techniques, visual aesthetics, and capturing the essence of Lewis County. 

3. Production capabilities: The ability to handle all aspects of content creation, including filming, editing, and post-production, as well as the resources and equipment available to deliver high-quality results. 

4. Cost-effectiveness: The proposed budget should be reasonable, transparent, and competitive, considering the deliverables and the overall value offered.
