Eastern Lewis County is comprised of Croghan, New Bremen, Beaver Falls, and Belfort. The region is united in the downtown of Croghan. Home to Good Ol' Wishy's, the Croghan Meat Market, the Croghan Candy Kitchen, and the International Maple Museum Centre, downtown Croghan is the ideal balance of business development and history.

The charming Village of Croghan is located in the Towns of Croghan and New Bremen. The area was first settled by members of the Oneida tribe of the Iroquois Nation. Immigrants from Switzerland, Germany and France settled here and in 1841 named our town after George Croghan, a hero in the War of 1812. The Village of Croghan was incorporated in 1906. Much of the early industry was centered on the forests and the Beaver River. Logs were sent down the river to the sawmills powered by the river. The present Croghan Island Mill Lumber Company has been in operation for more than 150 years.

If you're looking for something to do, the Croghan Recreation Park has it all- a ball field, basketball courts, a swimming hole, an ice rink/pavilion, and a playground! Located just off of downtown Croghan, this Park has all of the tools to provide a day of fun for all ages!
