A tourist hotspot featuring open spaces and clear skies, the Tug Hill Region, known for its record amounts of snowfall and recreational opportunities is the ideal location. Looking for an area where there's always something to do, but also the opportunity to enjoy the peace and beauty of nature? The Tug Hill Region is the place for you!
Averaging about 200 inches of snowfall annually, Tug Hill is known for some of the best snowmobiling in the Northeast. Lake-effect snowstorms cover this area in a canvas of white, perfect for you and your winter adventure! There are approximately 500 miles of groomed trails. And don’t worry, the snowmobile trails are free with no permit required! Interested? Connect with Turin Ridge Riders, Southern Tug Hill Snow-Riders Inc., or Barnes Corners Sno-Pals!

A new staple to the Tug Hill Region is Hopenhagen Lavender Farm. Walk through the fields, visit the farm store, try some Lavender ice cream, and have a party in the Tea Room!
Hopenhagen Farm grows a variety of hops – Cascade, Newport, and Crystal as well as several species of lavender- Edelweiss, Big Blue, Hidcote, Melissa Lilac, Munstead, Phenomenal, Sensational, Super Blue and Provence. The farm store offers a selection of hand-made products utilizing the lavender and hops paired with essential oils.
Hopenhagen Farm Tea Room is open for English Afternoon Tea Parties and multiple other events. Be sure to check out the Hopenhagen Lavender Festival in early July!
Uniting the expansive Tug Hill Region is Copenhagen Central School- a source of pride for locals. Copenhagen Central School is the smallest in class size in Lewis County, allowing the student to teacher ratio to favor each student’s educational experience
